The tree shows the straight line ancestry from the current oldest known GRANT to my youngest son.
The Grant family were farmers from the early 1800s through to the early 1900s, owning Manor Farm at Bessacarr on the eastern outskirts of Doncaster but can be traced back to the mid 1700s and James Grant who it was claimed in his 1808 burial papers, hailed from Perthshire, Scotland.
The Grants can be traced back to at least the 1400’s in Perthshire and the Clan Grant some two hundred years beyond that in the Loch Ness area.
